Legendary actors Chiranjeevi and Sridevi starrer Telugu socio-fantasy drama Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari has been re-released in 2D and 3D formats on May 9.
Marking its 35th anniversary, the film has been re-released in more than 150 screens across the country. The production house Vyjayanthi Movies took to Instagram on Friday and shared the excitement of the audience who enjoyed the film again in he theatres.
Their caption read, "Packed houses… cheering crowds..Early morning shows of #JVAS witnessed houseful magic all over. The timeless epic receives a grand re-welcome from audiences… #JagadekaVeeruduAthilokaSundari IN CINEMAS FROM TODAY, in 2D & 3D. #JVASRerelease."
They posted a video of people cheering and enjoying the movie in multiple theatres.
In the film, Sridevi played Lord Indra's daughter, who is on a quest to recover her misplaced ring—a crucial item she needs to locate in order to return to Indralok—and Chiranjeevi played a guardian of four children.
Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, the film was based on a story by Yandamoori Veerendranath, with the screenplay penned by Jandhyala.
In a recent interview with Vyjayanthi Network, Chiranjeevi expressed his desire to see his son Ram Charan and Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor in the film's sequel if made in today's date. "The story would be closely tied to the original - it could be a dream project for both actors," he added.

He further said, "I miss Sridevi very much on this occasion. She was the heart of JVAS (Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari). Her character felt like a dream. It was the first time we worked together, and our chemistry was truly special."
When the film hit theatres on May 9, 1990, undivided Andhra Pradesh was reeling under the impact of a devastating cyclone. Despite the initial setback, the movie steadily gained traction with audiences and eventually turned into a massive blockbuster.
