Trouble seems to be following Indian comedian Kapil Sharma’s Surrey-based restaurant, Kap’s Café, as yet another firing incident has been reported — the third in just a few months.
According to reports, three rounds were fired at the café earlier this week. Thankfully, no one was injured. A video shared online shows the café’s exterior moments after the attack, with police vehicles arriving at the scene as flashing lights illuminate the quiet Canadian street.
What’s more unsettling is that gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Kulvir Sidhu (Nepali) — reportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — have claimed responsibility for the attack.
They allegedly posted a message on social media shortly after the firing, intensifying public concern over the growing pattern of violence linked to the group.
In a report by News18, local police in Surrey have launched an investigation and are working to determine whether the latest incident is connected to previous shootings at the café.
Over the last few months, Kap’s Café — co-owned by Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath — has repeatedly been targeted, leaving fans and the Indian community in Canada deeply worried.
The first attack took place on 10 July, when unknown assailants opened fire outside the café. Investigators had at the time suspected the involvement of the Laddi gang, a group believed to have ties to the banned Khalistani outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Barely a month later, on 7 August, gunfire erupted again — this time far more intense, with reports suggesting that over 25 rounds were fired. Footage from that night captured the chilling sound of multiple gunshots ringing out across the area.
Now, with a third attack unfolding in similar fashion, fears of an organised campaign targeting Sharma’s property are growing.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Kapil Sharma may soon receive police protection, after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly issued threats against him earlier this year — including an attack on one of his properties in Punjab.
Although Kapil Sharma and his family have not yet released a statement, the frequent occurrences have left many people shaken and hoping that the violence will stop soon.
