Singer Monali Thakur turned a bizarre travel mishap into a viral moment after she climbed into a smelly garbage bin at Zurich airport to retrieve her lost diamond ring, sharing the entire experience in a humorous video on her social media.
In the early‑morning clip, the Moh Moh Ke Dhaage and Sawaar Loon singer explains that while she was throwing away trash at around 4 a.m., the diamond ring she wears regularly accidentally slipped into the bin. With the airport nearly deserted and no one around to help, Monali had to think on her feet. “I’m in Zurich… my beautiful… the one I wear all the time, my diamond ring… it fell inside the garbage,” she says in the video, candidly describing her predicament.
Despite the bin being heavy and awkward, and the situation far from glamorous, Monali didn’t hesitate to take action. With some assistance from a few kind strangers who helped her open the bin, she managed to climb in and retrieve the precious piece of jewelry. She later said in the the post, "I can't even open this. It's so heavy. I don't even know what's on me right now. But screw it. These guys helped me get into it. I actually got into that bin, and I took out this ring."
This follows a period where the singer was in the headlines for health concerns after experiencing breathing issues during a live performance, which led her to pause the show and seek medical attention.
