Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, known for adding warmth, wit, and astute observation to movies like Vicky Donor and Piku, is all set to make a grand comeback. With his first-ever Mytho Humour entertainment, the filmmaker is venturing into a completely new realm.
The makers have revealed that Mansi Dhruv Mehta, a production designer who won the Sardar Udham National Award, is building a huge, ornate set. The universe being created combines mythology with a modern and sarcastic perspective, drawing inspiration from a significant passage of the Mahabharat.
Saurabh Shukla and Vineet Kumar Singh have been officially added to the cast of the movie alongside Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao. It is anticipated that both actors, who are renowned for their flexibility and mastery of comedy and drama, would add a new aspect to this creative rendition.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “A massive, elaborate set is being constructed by Sardar Udham’s National Award-winning production designer, Mansi Dhruv Mehta. Inspired by a key chapter from the Mahabharat, the world being built blends mythology with a contemporary and satirical lens.”
“It marks Shoojit Sircar’s much-awaited return to humour. The acclaimed filmmaker, known for bringing warmth, wit and sharp observation to films such as Vicky Donor and Piku, is now stepping into an entirely new space with his first-ever Mytho Humour entertainer,” added the insider.
The movie, which is being produced by Rising Sun Films and Kino Works with support from Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, is in full-scale pre-production, and set building is already taking place.
The project is scheduled to begin production in early 2026.
