Bollywood superstar Govinda has recently issued an apology after his wife, Sunita Ahuja, talked about their family's astrologer, Pandit Mukesh Shukla. Sunita’s comment made headlines and received trolls from all over the internet.
However, a video of Govinda is now going viral on social media in which the actor issued a public apology and praised Pandit Mukesh Shukla. The actor also condemned Sunita's comments.
In the video, Govinda said, “I have been consulting Pandit Mukesh Shukla for years and I respect him immensely. His father has also been our family's pandit for years.”
The actor added, “My wife made disparaging remarks against Pandit Mukesh Shukla on the podcast, and I condemn them. My deepest apologies. Pandit Mukesh Ji and his family have been with me in tough times, and I respect him a lot.”
For the unversed, Sunita recently appeared on Bigg Boss fame Paras Chhabra’s podcast. During the episode, Paras said that some pandits don’t always have the right intentions, to which Sunita quickly added, “We also have one in our house, Govinda’s pandit.”
She added, “He is also like this only, gets pujas done, charges Rs. 2 lakhs. I tell him that you should pray on your own, unka karaaya hua puja paath kuch kaam nahi aane wala hai."
Sunita further noted, “God will accept the prayers that you do on your own. I don’t believe in all this. Even if I donate or do any good deed, I do it with my own hands for my karma. Darne wala darr jaata hai.”
Govinda and Sunita have been in the news this year. They were rumoured to be getting a divorce earlier this year. The reports suggested that Sunita had filed for divorce, but the actor's manager later disclosed that they had resolved their differences and were still together.
