Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is in news again, this time for remarks he made about Pakistan and Balochistan.
Salman Khan has been added to the 4th Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (1997), which is typically reserved for people suspected of having ties to terrorism.
According to a notification from the Government of Balochistan Home Department, dated 16th October 2025 (subject to verification), the reason cited was Salman being an “Azad Balochistan Facilitator.”
The controversy stems from remarks Salman made during Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh, where he commented on the reach of Indian cinema in Saudi Arabia.
He said, “Right now, if you make a Hindi film and release it here (in Saudi Arabia), it will be a superhit. If you make a Tamil, Telugu, or Malayali film, it will do hundreds of crores in business because so many people from other countries have come here. There are people from Balochistan, there are people from Afghanistan, there are people from Pakistan… everyone is working here."
Online discussion and immediate attention were generated by the actor's remarks, with many people raising concerns about the political sensitivity of separating Pakistan and Balochistan.

Salman Khan has previously been the target of criticism for his divisive remarks. Here is a quick review of some of his earlier statements:
2012 Mumbai 26/11 attacks: Salman suggested the attacks were “hyped” because they targeted “elite people” on a Pakistani TV channel.
He later clarified that the channel had twisted his words. Critics found the comment insensitive given the gravity of the tragedy. As per in a report by News9.
During Sultan promotions, he said, “I used to feel like a raped woman” while discussing his character’s emotional trauma. The analogy was widely criticised as deeply inappropriate and dismissive of sexual assault survivors.
Comments on women’s dress code: Salman remarked, “A woman’s body is a lot more precious, so as much as it is covered, I feel it’s better.” The comment triggered debates about sexism and double standards.
Deleted India-Pakistan ceasefire tweet: Salman tweeted, “Thank God for the ceasefire…” following a halt in India-Pakistan hostilities. The tweet was deleted, but it sparked discussions on celebrity involvement in geopolitical commentary. As reported by News9.
On the professional front, Salman was last seen in Sikandar and is currently working on Battle of Galwan, slated for release next year, promising more high-octane action for his fans.
