The much-anticipated action thriller Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty and directed by Krish, was originally scheduled to hit theatres on July 11, 2025. However, the film’s release has now been postponed due to delays in the visual effects (VFX) segment. Producer Rajeev Reddy has confirmed that certain crucial sequences in the film required VFX, and the delay in delivery from one of the studios has forced the team to reschedule.

Although Ghaati is not a VFX-heavy project, Reddy emphasized that select portions of the narrative rely significantly on visual effects. “We have been coordinating with multiple studios for the VFX work, but unfortunately one of them couldn’t deliver the output on time,” he explained. “We’re very happy with the quality of the work that’s come in so far, and we don’t want to rush the process. We want the final product to do justice to the gripping narrative.”
Reddy further stated that the team is currently in discussions with distributors and exhibitors to finalize a new release date. “Ghaati is a powerful story and deserves the best presentation possible. We’ll announce the new date once everything is in place,” he assured.

The film, which promises to blend intense action with a raw emotional core, has been shot extensively in the scenic regions of Odisha. “Fifty percent of the film was shot in Lamtaput, Machakund, and Anakadeli Town in Koraput district,” said Reddy. “Anushka’s character is raw, rustic, and involved in intense action sequences. The story demanded an authentic and rugged backdrop, and Odisha offered just that.”
