Anupam Kher celebrates Robert De Niro’s 82nd birthday with a touching message: 'You are the god of acting in every sense...'

Veteran actor Anupam Kher took to social media to extend warm birthday greetings to Hollywood legend Robert De Niro, who turned 82 on Sunday.

In his message, Anupam Kher described the two-time Academy Award winner as the “God of Acting” and expressed his deep sense of honour and privilege in being able to call him a friend.

Alongside a collection of endearing photographs with De Niro, Kher penned a heartfelt note, writing: “Happy Birthday Mr. #RobertDeNiro! May you be blessed with all the joy in the universe! You have motivated countless actors (myself included) globally with your DEDICATION and GENIUS! The simplest way to describe you is that you are the #GodOfActing in every sense! I feel honoured, humbled, and privileged to call you my friend! Wishing you a long and healthy life. Love and prayers always!”

Although Anupam Kher has always admired De Niro, the two actors' relationship was brought to light earlier this year. The Hollywood legend unexpectedly attended the New York premiere of Anupam Kher's most recent film, Tanvi The Great, in June. In retrospect, Anupam described De Niro's attendance at the screening as "incredible" and one of the most poignant moments of his career.

He later shared a series of videos and images from the premiere on Instagram, including one striking picture of himself standing proudly alongside De Niro. Another clip captured the two posing for the international press, a moment Kher described with overwhelming gratitude: “THE WORLD’S GREATEST ACTOR GRACES THE PREMIERE OF TANVI THE GREAT IN NEW YORK! What more could an actor/director wish for from the God! Thank you dear #Tiffany and Mr. #RobertDeNiro for being part of the premiere! This is undoubtedly the pinnacle of my career.
