Anil Kapoor, brother Boney Kapoor immerse mother’s ashes in Ganga with emotional tribute

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor and his filmmaker brother Boney Kapoor came together to perform the final rites of their beloved mother, Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away on May 2 at the age of 90 due to age-related ailments. The solemn ceremony took place at the holy Ganga river, where the Kapoor brothers immersed her ashes in a traditional ritual.

Accompanied by spiritual leaders Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, the Kapoor family performed the sacred puja with deep reverence.

A poignant photo from the ceremony captured Anil and Boney Kapoor seated on the riverbank, offering prayers before immersing the ashes in the holy waters. The setting, steeped in tradition and tranquility, was the same location where the family had immersed the ashes of their father, Surinder Kapoor, nearly ten years ago.

In a heartfelt tribute shared on social media, Anil Kapoor reflected on the emotional moment. He wrote, "Grief and Healing… Today we immersed Ma’s ashes in the Ganga, in the same place where we had laid Dad to rest nearly a decade ago… With the grief came a quiet sense of peace, like Ma and Dad are finally back together. With each other, home at last."

The Kapoors, known for their close-knit family ties, have always emphasised the importance of tradition, heritage, and honoring their elders.
