K-pop girl group aespa is joining hands with one of the most popular games in the world — PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. This exciting collaboration follows aespa’s recent music comeback and is another big step in their growing list of global projects.
Just recently, aespa released their new single, Dirty Work, and it made a huge impact. The performance video was even shot using an iPhone in a collaboration with Apple. They also teamed up with Capcom for a special event with Street Fighter 6. Now, they are working with KRAFTON, the company behind PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.
Instead of using Dirty Work for the collaboration, the game chose to bring back aespa’s earlier hit Whiplash, which was released in October 2024. Even though it came out nine months ago, Whiplash continues to perform well. It has about 195 million views on YouTube and nearly 250 million streams on Spotify.
To celebrate this new partnership, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS will release a special update. The PC version of the game will get the patch on July 9, and console players (on Xbox and PlayStation) will get it one week later, on July 17.
But the most exciting news? aespa and PUBG will release a brand-new song just for this collaboration! This comes only weeks after the success of Dirty Work, which topped Spotify’s “Top Songs Global” chart from June 27 to June 29. The group is popular not just in Korea but all around the world — from the U.S. and Europe to Southeast Asia and China.

In China, aespa is doing especially well, leading the charts on QQ Music and KuGou under Tencent Music. They’ve also reached over 1.01 million pre-orders for the physical copies of their latest music, proving their strong fanbase and star power.
The new collab track, titled Dark Arts, is expected to be high-energy and powerful. It will feature aggressive rhythms, fast guitar sounds, and a feeling of intensity — just like in a survival battle in PUBG. The music will match aespa’s bold and futuristic style, known for its “metallic edge” and “metaverse” vibe.
Fans can expect a mix of strong music, exciting game action, and aespa’s cool image in this project. So whether you are a gamer or a K-pop fan (or both!), this is something to look forward to.
Mark your calendars for July 9 and July 17, and get ready to experience PUBG x aespa like never before!
