Aakanksha Singh, known for her roles in various television dramas and films, recently took to Instagram to share a note about her husband Kunal Sain’s health battle. The actress revealed that the past 20 days have been a challenging period for the family as Kunal was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia, a condition that required immediate medical attention and surgery.
In her post, Aakanksha opened about the emotional turmoil they faced during this time. For a person like Kunal, who has a phobia of syringes, the thought of undergoing surgery was incredibly daunting. Aakanksha described how Kunal was vulnerable and apprehensive about the entire process, likening him to a “baby” not ready for the procedure. Despite these hurdles, she expressed immense gratitude for the team of doctors and medical staff at Meenakshi Hospital in Ghaziabad, who provided unwavering support and care.
The ordeal began when Kunal started experiencing discomfort, prompting them to consult doctors for a thorough check-up. An initial ultrasound revealed the presence of a single inguinal hernia. However, as the surgery commenced, the doctors discovered not one, but five inguinal hernias, a rare occurrence that added complexity to the situation. The news was overwhelming, but Aakanksha remained positive and trusted the doctors’ expertise.
In her post, she specially mentioned Dr. Vikrant Sharma, the surgeon who led Kunal’s procedure, and Dr. Rajiv Seth, the anesthetist, for their patience, dedication, and the exceptional care they provided. She also expressed her gratitude to Dr. Meenakshi Seth and Dr. Rajshree Seth for their support throughout the process.
Aakanksha shared that despite the availability of medical facilities closer to their home, the family decided to fly down to Ghaziabad for the surgery. The reason for this decision was the immense trust they had in the team at Meenakshi Hospital, which is also run by Aakanksha’s relatives. She acknowledged that even though this hospital is managed by her family members, it was the doctors’ professionalism and advanced technology that influenced their decision to go ahead with the procedure there.

One of the key factors that played a role in the successful treatment was the use of advanced robotic surgery. Aakanksha highlighted how this technology made the procedure less invasive and contributed to a quicker recovery for Kunal. She thanked Vikrant, whom she affectionately referred to as ‘jiju,’ for bringing this technology to their notice. “It’s a boon to the medical science,” she mentioned in her post, appreciating the efficiency and precision of the procedure.
