Last year, ethnic clashes erupted in Manipur on May 3 during a 'Tribal Solidarity March,' resulting in the tragic loss of at least 219 lives. The clashes were sparked by protests in the hill districts against the Meitei community's push for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
