Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, on May 11, wrote another letter to the Election Commission (EC), seeking reasons for the rejection of his allegations against the poll panel of mismanagement and delay in releasing the final count of voter turnout.

Taking to microblogging site X, Kharge shared his open letter to the EC, saying, "It is surprising that the Election Commission of India wanted to respond to this letter while ignoring several other complaints given directly to it".

This comes a day after the EC issued a stern warning to Kharge for his accusations regarding voter turnout data. The Commission labeled Kharge's claims as an attack on the integrity of the electoral process and accused him of intentionally sowing confusion. The Poll panel also criticised the Congress president for attempting to manipulate public opinion by alleging a delay in sharing voter turnout information.

The EC had noted that it found Kharge's letter "highly undesirable" and made it "create confusion, misdirection and impediment to the conduct of smooth, free and fair elections".
