BJP is expecting to perform better than its last tally in the upcoming polls as it has again stitched an alliance with Nitish Kumar-led JD(U). It will face a tough challenge from the RJD-led by Tejashwi Yadav, son of former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav, as well as the Congress.

In the previous general election, the BJP won 22 seats while the JD(U) won 16 seats. Both the parties had contested the polls in alliance and the BJP emerged as the senior ally after the poll results. The LJP, which was also part of the NDA, won 6 seats. The Congress, which was part of the larger Mahagathbandhan, secured just 1 seat in the state. The BJP also bagged the maximum number of ballots, cornering a vote share of 23.58%.
