The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was in for the sweetest treat on Friday as it handed over a crushing defeat to the Mahagathbandhan alliance and registered a thumping victory with 202 of the 243 seats.
However, for some candidates, the contest ended in a nail-biting finish.
For instance, the contest in Sandesh was the tightest in Bihar, with JD(U) candidate Radha Charan Sah defeating RJD’s Dipu Singh by a razor-thin margin of only 27 votes.
Sah got 80,598 votes (43.99%), while Singh won 80,571 votes (43.97%) in one of the most thrilling contests during this assembly election.
Similarly in Ramgarh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Satish Kumar Singh Yadav defeated BJP’s Ashok Kumar Singh by a margin of just 30 votes, the party’s sole win in Bihar. Yadav polled 72,689 votes (37.29%) and Singh got 72,659 votes (37.29%).
