Over one lakh candidates who appeared for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2025 are still awaiting their results as the WBJEEB has delayed the declaration. As per the past trends, results are released within 20 to 48 days after the exam. This year, the exam was held on April 28, 2025, and students were expecting the results by late May or early June. However, the delay has now extended into July, adding to student anxiety.
Why the Delay in WBJEE Results 2025?
The delay is reportedly linked to an interim stay order by the Calcutta High Court on the revised OBC reservation list. The stay will remain in place until July 31, 2025. As a result, the finalisation and release of WBJEE 2025 results have been put on hold.
What Has Happened So Far?
The WBJEEB had earlier released the answer key and candidate response sheets, and students were allowed to raise objections until May 11, 2025, by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 500 per question. Only objections with successful online payment via net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI were considered valid. The board’s decision on the final answer key is binding and cannot be challenged.
WBJEE 2025 Exam Pattern
The WBJEE 2025 exam was held on April 28, 2025, in two sessions:
- Paper 1 (Mathematics): 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry): 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Once released, candidates can follow these steps to check their WBJEE 2025 scorecard:
- Visit the official website: wbjeeb.nic.in
- Click on the WBJEE 2025 Result link on the homepage.
- Enter your application number and password/date of birth.
- View your result and download the rank card.
- Save and print the scorecard for future counselling rounds.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for updates. The counselling schedule will likely be released once the results are out post the High Court's verdict on July 31. Keep documents ready for the admission process to colleges and universities in West Bengal.
