Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has directly addressed the long-standing controversy over his educational background, calling the claims "illogical" and providing specific details to refute them.
For a long time, political circles in Bihar have been abuzz with questions about Prashant Kishor's education. While the political strategist-turned-politician has often been irritated by these queries, he recently opened up in a detailed interview to clear the air once and for all.
The topic came up when he was asked about the allegations questioning his academic qualifications. In his response, Kishor did not hold back, presenting a point-by-point rebuttal.
"How can a failure work at the UN?"
Prashant Kishor began by pointing to his professional career as the most significant proof of his credentials.
“I worked for 10 years with the United Nations as an international civil servant. So obviously, I must have studied something before reaching there,” he stated.
He directly addressed a viral claim, saying, “I recently saw a video claiming that I failed my Class 12 exams! If I really failed in Science College, you can ask K.C. Sinha sir — he was one of my professors.”
To ensure his claims were verifiable, Kishor shared specific details from his college days. “I studied there from 1991 to 1993. My roll number was 68, Section A. You can go to Science College and verify how I performed and what marks I got.”
He expressed his frustration, not at being questioned, but at the lack of logic behind the allegations. “I get upset only because such claims are illogical.”
Educational Background of Prashant Kishor
For the record, Prashant Kishor clarified his exact academic qualifications.
“For the record, I studied Public Health. My graduation was in Business Administration,” he revealed. He emphasized that these qualifications were the foundation that allowed him to begin his international career.
Shifting from defense to offense, Kishor turned the spotlight onto his main political critic, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who had originally raised the allegations.
“He talks about affidavits. Well, his affidavit has been filed now. So go through it and find out when he actually passed Class 10!” Kishor challenged.
He contrasted his own transparency with what he implied was a lack thereof from his opponent. “You asked me, and I gave you all the details within a minute — roll number, marks, section, teachers, even classmates. But can anyone show me where, in his affidavit, it says when he passed his 10th class? That’s what should be questioned.”
