The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is scheduled to release the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 final answer key today, December 17. This document forms the definitive basis for scoring the national-level MBA entrance exam.
The final key follows a meticulous review process of 187 objections raised by candidates against the provisional answer keys. Notably, subject expert panels upheld only a single objection, leading to a change in just one answer.
After conducting CAT 2025 on November 30 across multiple shifts, IIM-K opened an objection window from December 8 to 10. During this period, aspirants could formally challenge any answer they believed to be incorrect.
The institute received a total of 187 objections spanning all three sections and exam shifts. The section-wise distribution of these challenges was as follows:
Quantitative Ability (QA): 115 objections
Shift 1: 113 objections (Including the one accepted change)
Shift 2: 0 objections
Shift 3: 2 objections
Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC): 61 objections
Shift 1: 22 objections
Shift 2: 26 objections
Shift 3: 13 objections
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR): 11 objections
Shift 1: 4 objections
Shift 2: 1 objection
Shift 3: 6 objections
IIM Kozhikode constituted dedicated panels of subject experts to scrutinize every objection. After a comprehensive evaluation, the committees concluded that only one challenge—pertaining to the Quantitative Ability (QA) section in Shift 1—had merit.
Consequently, the final answer key for that specific question has been revised. All other 186 objections across the VARC, DILR and QA sections were not accepted, leaving the provisional answers for those questions unchanged.
"The final answer keys released on December 17 will be the basis for evaluation and preparation of CAT 2025 results," stated the institute. The scorecards and final results are expected to be announced shortly following this release.
With the publication of the final answer key, the evaluation process will enter its conclusive phase. Candidates can consider the provided answers as absolute for calculating their probable scores. The focus will shift to the imminent declaration of results, which will determine percentile ranks and eligibility for calls from IIMs and numerous other business schools.
Prospective test-takers are advised to monitor the official CAT 2025 website for the latest updates on the result declaration date and subsequent admission processes.
