The Bihar School Examination Committee (BSEB) will commence the Intermediate Annual Examination 2025 from 1 February 2025. A total of 12.92 lakh students will appear for the exams across 1,677 examination centres in the state. The authorities have implemented strict measures to ensure a fair and malpractice-free examination.

Entry and Timings
- All examinees must arrive at the examination centre at least one hour before the exam starts.
- The main gate will be closed 30 minutes before the examination begins.
- Late arrivals attempting to enter forcefully will be considered as committing Criminal Trespass, leading to strict legal action, including a two-year ban and an FIR against the examinee and responsible officials.
On 1 February 2025, the following exams will be conducted:
- First Shift (09:30 AM – 12:45 PM): Biology and Philosophy (5,04,657 examinees).
- Second Shift (02:00 PM – 05:15 PM): Economics (75,281 examinees).
In Patna district, 75,917 students, including 37,174 girls and 38,743 boys, will take the exam at 85 centres.
Security and Fair Exam Measures
- Tri-level magistrate deployment: Zonal, sub-zonal, and super-zonal magistrates will monitor the examination.
- Police deployment: Adequate police personnel will be stationed at all centres.
- Frisking: Examinees will be checked at two levels, at the entry gate and inside the examination hall.
- CCTV & Videography: All centres will have CCTV surveillance, and videographers will be assigned for every 500 students.
- Restricted Area: No unauthorised person is allowed within a 200 metre radius of examination centres.
- Prohibited Items: Electronic watches, smartwatches, and magnetic watches are not allowed. Only analogue watches are permitted. Mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and earphones are banned inside the exam hall.
- Question Papers: Each student will receive one of 10 different sets (A–J) to prevent cheating.
- OMR and Answer Booklets: These will be pre-printed with students’ photos, roll numbers, subject details, and exam dates. The OMR answer sheets will be collected midway through the exam (11:00 AM for the first shift and 3:30 PM for the second shift).
- Model Exam Centres for Girls: Each district will have four model examination centres exclusively for girls, with only female invigilators and security personnel. In Patna, these centres are BMP-5 School Camp Jail, Arya Kanya Higher Secondary School, Dayanand Kanya Vidyalaya, and Mahesh High School.
- Facility for Disabled Students: Disabled students will be allowed 20 extra minutes per hour and can avail a writer facility with prior approval from the District Education Officer.
