A grand wax museum being built on the premises of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be opened to the public during this year’s Deepotsav, which is celebrated a day before Diwali, Hindustan Times reported.
The museum is located on the Parikrama Path and covers an area of about 10,000 square feet. It is being developed to give both devotees and tourists a unique cultural and historical experience.
The wax museum will showcase around 50 statues of important characters from the Ramayana. Visitors will be able to see lifelike wax figures of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshman, Lord Hanuman, Sugriv, and Jatayu, among others.
From their facial expressions to their costumes, every element is being designed to look authentic and true to the descriptions in the Ramayana. So far, nearly Rs 7.5 crore has been spent on the project.
Along with these statues, the museum will also recreate some of the most well-known events from the epic. Scenes such as the fierce battle between Ram and Ravan, the abduction of Sita, Hanuman’s journey to Lanka, and the construction of the Ram Setu will be brought to life. Modern technology will be used along with wax artistry to make these experiences more engaging.
Audio-visual effects and interactive displays will make the stories feel real, especially for children and young visitors.
The work on the museum is being carried out by an organisation from Maharashtra, with help from experts in Kerala.
According to the Ayodhya administration, this museum will not only add to the religious significance of the city but will also help showcase the timeless values of the Ramayana to people from around the world.
As per HT, municipal commissioner Jayendra Kumar confirmed that the construction is going on at a fast pace and is being carefully monitored to ensure it is completed on time.
