The EX30 is Volvo's third EV for India.

Volvo Car India has launched its all-new electric SUV, the EX30, at an ex-showroom price of Rs 41 lakh. As a festive special, customers who pre-reserve before October 19, 2025, can get the SUV at Rs 39.99 lakh. Deliveries are set to begin in the first week of November.

This is the Swedish carmaker's third electric vehicle (EV) for India after the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. Like the other two, the EX30 will be assembled at Volvo's Hosakote plant near Bengaluru. The company says this will help keep prices competitive while also ensuring faster deliveries. Each car will be offered with a bundled package that covers three years of warranty, service, and roadside assistance, along with five years of connected services. Buyers also get a wall box charger and an 8-year battery warranty as standard.

Powertrain and performance

The EX30 is being introduced in the Single Motor Extended Range version. It develops 272hp and 343Nm of torque, paired to a 69kWh lithium-ion battery. The EV delivers a certified range of 480km (WLTP) and does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 5.3 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 180kmph.

Volvo is positioning the EX30 as a compact yet powerful EV. The driving dynamics are aimed at city-friendly agility without compromising highway performance. The EX30 feels quick on its feet, with one-pedal driving making urban use stress-free. The steering is light yet precise, while the suspension balances comfort with handling.

Safety and features

True to the Volvo family, safety has been given top priority. The EX30 has a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Features include multiple airbags, Safe Space Technology, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, intersection auto-brake, a 360-degree camera, and blind spot monitoring.

Inside, the SUV continues Volvo's sustainability push. The upholstery and cabin panels use recycled denim, PET bottles, aluminium, and PVC pipes. The layout is minimalistic but loaded with tech. There is a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, 5G connectivity, OTA updates, and wireless charging. Sound is taken care of by a 1040W Harman Kardon system with nine speakers. A panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting themes, and digital key functions add to the premium feel.

Market positioning and rivals

In terms of size and pricing, the EX30 will sit below the C40 Recharge in Volvo's India line-up. It is aimed at younger buyers and first-time luxury EV customers. Its rivals include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and BMW iX1.
