Tata Motors has added Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to the Nexon line-up, enhancing the compact SUV's safety suite. The company has also introduced a new Red Dark edition, available across petrol, diesel and CNG variants, with prices starting at Rs 12.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
The move comes as the Nexon became India's highest-selling car in September 2025 at 22,573 units. The SUV already holds dual 5-star safety ratings from both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP, and the addition of ADAS takes its safety credentials further.
According to the company, the Nexon's ADAS package includes key features such as Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Centering System, and High Beam Assist. These systems are designed to alert the driver, maintain lane discipline, and prevent potential collisions by automatically intervening when needed.
The updated Tata Nexon range now includes a new Fearless+ PS DCA ADAS variant priced at Rs 13.53 lakh (ex-showroom), alongside the newly introduced Red Dark edition available across multiple powertrains.
The Nexon has three engine options -- 1.2-litre turbo petrol (120PS and 170Nm), 1.2-litre turbo petrol + CNG (100PS and 170Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (115PS and 260Nm). The transmission choices include 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT and DCA with the turbo petrol mill, 6-speed MT with the CNG unit, and 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT with the diesel motor.
The following are the variant-wise Nexon Red Dark edition prices (ex-showroom).
Petrol MT - Rs 12.44 lakh
Petrol DCA (with ADAS) - Rs 13.81 lakh
CNG MT - Rs 13.36 lakh
Diesel MT - Rs 13.52 lakh
Diesel AMT - Rs 14.15 lakh
The Red Dark edition builds on Tata's existing dark range, offering cosmetic updates and new cabin detailing. Finished in Atlas Black with red accents, the model features a dark mascot with red lettering, piano black grille surrounds, roof rails, and skid plates. It boasts Granite Black interiors with red stitching, red leatherette ventilated front seats, diamond quilting and dark-embroidered headrests.
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Srivatsa said, "Since its debut in 2017, the Nexon has redefined the SUV segment with its bold design, thrilling performance, and uncompromised safety. As India's first car to pioneer the safety revolution, the Nexon has set new benchmarks in vehicle safety. Building on this strong foundation, the Nexon has become the No. 1 selling car in India in September 2025, a major milestone that reflects the trust and preference of customers across the country."
With the new ADAS-equipped variants and Red Dark edition, Tata continues to expand the Nexon portfolio. The model currently competes with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV300 in India's compact SUV segment.
