Skoda Auto India has reintroduced the Octavia RS in the Indian market, priced at Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered in limited numbers as a fully built unit (FBU), the performance sedan was sold out within 20 minutes of pre-bookings, which opened on October 6. Customer deliveries will begin on November 6.

The carmaker is importing 100 units of the new Octavia RS in 2025 under the GSR 870 rule, which permits up to 2,500 vehicles annually with UK or Japan homologation. The Octavia RS for India is a UK-spec model, manufactured in Czech Republic.

The launch coincides with Skoda's 25th anniversary in India and marks the return of a model that has achieved cult status among performance car enthusiasts. The Octavia RS combines the brand's signature design language with enhanced performance, advanced safety features and premium cabin technology.

The new Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that develops 265PS of maximum power and 370Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0-100kmph in 6.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. Skoda says the car features a sports suspension, progressive steering, and an advanced chassis setup for improved handling and stability.
