Renault India will reportedly introduce four new models in the country over the next two years. The carmaker currently offers the Kwid entry-level hatchback, the Kiger sub-4 metre compact SUV and the Triber sub-4 metre compact MPV.
The company launched the new Triber in India on July 23. In its fresh avatar, the MPV is priced between Rs 6.30 lakh and Rs 9.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
This was the carmaker's first important launch in over four years in India, following the introduction of the Kiger in February 2021.
With limited models in its portfolio, Renault India has been struggling with low volumes and the resultant declining market share.

"Now we are in the mode of rising and this is the first product which you see," businessline quoted Renault India MD Venkatram Mamillapalle as saying. "There will be four products during the next two years," he said. The company has already announced that most of the new launches will be in the SUV body style.
Renault India manufactures its cars at the Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) plant in Oragadam, Chennai. The facility has an annual installed production capacity of 4,80,000 units.
Under a global framework agreement between Renault Group and Nissan Motor Corporation, the French company will acquire the Japanese carmaker's 51% stake in RNAIPL.
While the RNAIPL manufacturing unit currently has a capacity utilisation of just 50%, Renault India plans to take it up to 100% over the next few years. The capacity will be utilised for domestic models, export models as well as contract-manufacturing models of Nissan.
