Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary market recall campaign for its CB1000 Hornet SP. The company said the action aligns with a global market initiative and covers select units manufactured in 2025.

According to Honda, excessive radiant heat from the motorcycle's exhaust system can soften the painted seating surface. This condition may lead to the change pedal pivot bolt loosening and potentially falling off while riding, which can impact gear shifting. The company has initiated the recall as a preventive step.

The company stated that replacement of the affected components will begin at BigWing Topline dealerships across India from January 2026. The work will be carried out free of cost regardless of the motorcycle's warranty status. The company said the voluntary initiative is aimed at reinforcing customer trust and improving the ownership experience.

Customer communication for the campaign has already begun. BigWing Topline dealers will inform owners through phone calls, e-mails and SMS for vehicle inspection starting today. Honda has also enabled an online verification tool, allowing owners to check whether their CB1000 Hornet SP is part of the recall by entering the motorcycle's vehicle identification number (VIN) on the company website.
