Even as the opposition parties, including Congress, have pledged complete support to the Modi government amid escalating tensions with Pakistan, the situation across the border is unravelling rather differently - with opposition MPs going all out against PM Shehbaz Sharif.

The outburst was visible in the National Assembly on Friday, with a Pakistani PM calling PM Sharif a "buzdil" (coward) who is afraid of even uttering the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a clip from the speech, which has gone viral, the MP laments that Pakistan’s army is demoralised and the nation stands helpless due to lack of formidable leadership in the country.

"I recall the words of Tipu Sultan, if a lion leads an army of jackals, then they too fight like a lion. However, if a jackal leads an army of lions, then the army cannot fight. They lose battles. There are jawans at our border, who seek inspiration from our leader ... but if your leader is buzdil (Coward), who can't even take the name of Modi, then what message are you sending to the soliders at our borders," the MP said.

This is a second instance in two days where Pakistani MPs have expressed serious concerns about the war-like situation with India.
