Hamas releases video of alive Israeli hostage

Hamas released a video showing two hostages captured during the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, with one stating he was being held in Gaza City amid Israel’s ongoing military offensive. The footage, showing the hostages being driven around Gaza, appears aimed at influencing Israeli public opinion as the assault intensifies.

The video showed hostage Guy Gilboa-Dalal inside a car being driven through areas of Gaza City with destroyed buildings, appealing to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to carry out the planned military offensive, AFP reported.

Gilboa-Dalal and Alon Ohel are among 48 people still held by Hamas, with 20 believed to be alive. Filmed last week, the footage shows the car passing locations including the Red Crescent headquarters, with CNN confirming the scenes were geolocated to Gaza City.
Gilboa-Dalal was attending the Nova music festival in southern Israel when Hamas militants abducted him during their attack on the event.

In the video released, he said in Hebrew that he was in Gaza City, with footage reportedly shot on August 28. Towards the end of the video, he is seen meeting another captive, identified as Alon Ohel.
