According to the latest Cultural Tourism Report by Skyscanner, 82% of Indian travellers in 2025 are prioritising destinations for their cultural offerings. Millennials (84%) and Gen Z (80%) are leading this movement, proving that India’s younger generations are hungry for authentic heritage, local traditions, and immersive experiences.

For many, cultural tourism is no longer defined by a checklist of monuments; 39% consider a trip successful when they return having learnt something new about the place or its people, signalling a shift from passive sightseeing to meaningful exploration.
