Zoho's Arattai -- the messaging app-- that suddenly came into limelight, especially after Union Minister's endorsement on X. This made the app popular. So much so, that it became the most downloaded messaging app on Play Store. Now, the app is being positioned as the Made-in-India WhatsApp rival and the app also offers more or less similar set of features such texting, calling, file sharing and more. However, there's one feature that Arattai offers and WhatsApp does not.
Wondering what's that? Well, the feature in question is the dedicated app for Android TV.
Yes, you heard it right. The Arattai messaging app comes with a dedicated app for Android TV and it is available to download via PlayStore.
The Android TV edge of Arattai over WhatsApp
While both Arattai and WhatsApp cover most of the same features, Arattai sets itself apart with a dedicated Android TV version of the app. Users can log into their Arattai account on Android TV and continue conversations directly on larger screens. Along with multi-device support for up to five devices—including Windows, macOS, and Linux—this flexibility makes Arattai more versatile than WhatsApp, which does not currently extend to smart TVs.
Not only that, the app also offers users the option to make normal and group calls which makes it easier for users to connect with others over big screen.
Zoho highlights its privacy-first foundation, noting that chats are encrypted in transit and user data is not shared with advertisers or third parties. The app’s lightweight design ensures smooth operation even on low-memory smartphones and 2G/3G networks, improving accessibility in rural regions.
