WhatsApp is soon going to borrow one major feature from Instagram. If you like putting up statuses on WhatsApp, you will soon get the option of adding music to your pictures similar to how you add music to your Instagram statuses. WhatsApp is currently testing the feature with Android and iOS beta users.
People who put a lot of status updates on WhatsApp will specifically like this feature. As per Wabetanifo, WhatsApp is testing the feature before making it available for regular users.
Here is how the feature will work
When you go to post a status, you’ll now see a music button in the drawing editor. This lets you search for your favorite songs or artists from a huge music library, which is the same one used by Instagram. You can choose the exact part of the song you want to share. For photo status updates, the music clip can be up to 15 seconds long. If you’re posting a video, the music will play for as long as the video lasts.
Once you’ve chosen your song and the part you like, the music will be added to your status. When others see your status, they’ll also see the song name and can click to check out the artist’s Instagram profile. This makes it easier to discover new music and artists!
This feature is already available to some beta testers, and it will be rolled out to more users in the next few weeks.
