It’s been a frustrating day for Samsung TV users in the US, as thousands of smart TVs suddenly stopped working properly on Thursday afternoon. Streaming apps like Netflix, Peacock, and YouTube TV refused to load, leaving users stuck on the dreaded terms and conditions screen instead of their favorite shows.

According to outage-tracking site DownDetector, more than 2,000 users have reported problems so far. The issue appears to be widespread, affecting Samsung smart TVs across the country.

People quickly took to social media to vent their anger and confusion. One user said, “Can’t even watch TV tonight because the damn Samsung server is down.” Another shared a particularly painful experience: “Samsung server is down. Took down five-year-old TV thinking it was broken, and bought a new 2025 Samsung TV. Only to realize server issue continues. Rough night…”

Many users reported being redirected to the TV’s terms and conditions screen over and over again, with an error message saying the Samsung server couldn’t be reached.
