Reliance Jio on Friday unveiled JioFrames, an AI-powered smart wearable designed to bring intelligence into everyday life, marking the company’s biggest push yet into consumer AI platforms.
“JioFrames brings the power of AI into your everyday life in the most natural way possible. Intelligence will not just be in your pocket, it will be right in front of your eyes,” said Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, while introducing the device at Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting.
The glasses feature Jio’s multilingual AI voice assistant, enabling hands-free interaction in multiple Indian languages. Users can capture HD photos and videos, stream live, or instantly store memories in Jio’s AI cloud. Beyond content creation, JioFrames doubles as a personal AI companion—summarising books, offering guided recipes while cooking, providing information on landmarks while travelling, and enabling productivity with calls, meetings, music, and podcasts through built-in open-ear speakers.
Positioned as a platform rather than just a device, JioFrames aims to blend AI seamlessly into daily routines, from learning and work to entertainment and lifestyle.
Alongside JioFrames, the company also highlighted JioPC, a cloud-based AI-ready virtual computer that can transform any TV or screen connected to a Jio set-top box into a full-fledged computer. With no upfront investment, users can pay as they go, scale storage or computing power on demand, and access a library of applications and AI tools.
“JioPC is not just about giving people a computer, it’s about giving every Indian the same AI-ready power that only a few have had so far,” Ambani said, adding that the platform will democratise access to high-performance computing for students, professionals, and businesses alike.
