Xiaomi Redmi 14C colour options
The phone has three colours too. Stargaze Black, Starlight Blue and Stardust Purple. All three colours are available in all three variants of the phone.

Biggest display in the segment
Xiaomi Redmi 14C features a 6.88-inch HD+ 120Hz refresh rate display with a peak brightness of 600 nits. This is the biggest display you can find on the phone under Rs 9,999. The display is certified for flicker-free visuals and eye comfort, ensuring a better viewing experience. The display quality is good and is more than sufficient for most users. The viewing angles are find and I have no complaints as such here.

Unique back panel gives a fresh feel
With the biggest display in the segment comes attached to the size of the phone. The phone is big and that goes without saying. However, Xiaomi has designed it well enough to keep it balanced and the flat side rails also make the phone easy to grip and use even with one hand. Also, I have the Starlight Blue colour with that startrails-like design at the back starting around the camera. The shimmery effect makes the phone look cool and fancy. Also, the buttons are placed right so I had no issues in reaching to the power or volume buttons. At the top there's a 3.5mm headphone jack and the bottom part includes a charging port (Type-C), microphone and speaker.

Gets a Snapdragon processor
Not many phones you can find in this segment that feature a Snapdragon Qualcomm processor in this price range. The Redmi 14C comes equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor which makes it a good choice and gives an edge over competitors. The performance as per my initial impression is decent. The phone somewhat handles everything that I have tried as of now.

Big battery and fast charging support
Xiaomi has packed the phone with a 5160mAh battery and 18W fast charging. While the charging speed is not much, the power-efficient processor and the battery capacity is good enough to make it last throughout the day without any worries.

The camera quality is good enough
The phone comes with a dual-camera system featuring a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The quality is adequate and more than enough for the segment. You can record decent-quality videos too using the phone. The photos and portrait mode have enough details in daylight conditions and when things start getting ugly, the built-in night mode does a decent job at minimising the noise and capturing more details without overprocessing.

HyperOS with long-term updates
Runs on Android 14 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS skin, and promises two years of Android updates along with four years of security updates. The OS feels smooth with occasional lag or stutter and that’s kind of acceptable for a phone that costs under Rs 9,999. The phone’s OS is feature-rich and offers an array of customisation options too.

Expandable storage is a big plus
If there’s one thing that to like the most about the Redmi 14C is the freedom to use a microSD card with it to add some extra storage space.
