The Paris 2024 Olympics recently concluded, and Algerian boxer Imane Khelif’s participation in the women’s boxing category was one of the most talked about points from the global competition. Khelif, who had been in the docks before over her gender eligibility, had to face severe criticism after defeating Italian boxer Angela Carini in an opening-round bout, in a match which was finished after 46 seconds.

However, after winning the gold medal in the Paris Olympics, Khalif has now decided to file a lawsuit over the gender row during the Olympic Games, while also naming Tesla owner Elon Musk and famous British author JK Rowling in it. This comes after both celebrities had criticized her participation in the event and had also posted on social media platform X.

Nabil Boudi, the gold medalist's Paris-based attorney, told Variety that both Musk and Rowling were named in the criminal complaint posted to the anti-online hatred centre of the public prosecutor's office last week. The lawyer also described the campaign against the boxer, as "misogynist, racist and sexist".

Boudi also said that former US President Donald Trump would be part of the probe. However, he didn’t specify if Trump would be named in the complaint, and added ”Trump tweeted, so whether or not he is named in our lawsuit, he will inevitably be looked into as part of the prosecution.”
