Dating assistant enters the chat
Facebook Dating is getting a new AI-powered dating assistant that acts like a personal guide. It helps you refine matches, suggest prompts, and even improve your dating profile. You can ask for specific types of matches — like “a Brooklyn girl in tech” — and the assistant will narrow down your options.
Meet Cute skips the swiping
Meta is rolling out Meet Cute, a surprise-match feature that automatically pairs you with someone based on its algorithm. No endless swiping — you either start chatting or move on. Matches will initially drop once a week.
Made for young adults
According to Meta, hundreds of thousands of people aged 18–29 in the US and Canada create dating profiles every month. Matches among young adults are already up 10% year over year, and Meta wants to keep that momentum going.
Goodbye swipe fatigue
The new features aim to solve the biggest complaint with online dating: swipe burnout. Instead of scrolling through profiles or paying for upgrades, Meta says users will now have free, smarter tools to connect faster.
Rolling out in phases
The dating assistant is gradually launching in the US and Canada, while Meet Cute will also start there with weekly surprise matches. More customization options and frequencies may come later.
