Thereās a new browser on the block, and itās called Dia. Built by The Browser Company, Dia is now available in beta and itās not your usual web browser. Instead of just helping you open websites and search things, Dia wants to become your personal AI assistant while you browse.
Hereās what makes it different:
Dia has AI built right into the address bar. That means you can ask it questions, get summaries of web pages, or even draft emails ā all without switching to another app like ChatGPT. The browser understands what youāre doing and helps out in real-time.
Letās say youāve got a bunch of tabs open, Dia can search across them for you. It can also remember what youāve been browsing for the past seven days to give you better answers. Thereās even a āSkillsā feature where you can create your own shortcuts or little tools to speed things up.
Dia is built on Chromium (the same engine as Chrome), so itāll feel familiar to most users. But unlike Chrome or Opera, which are just starting to add bits of AI, Dia is going all in. AI isnāt just an add-on here, itās the main experience.
This new browser comes after the company shut down its earlier browser, Arc. Arc had its fans, but it didnāt click with everyone. With Dia, theyāre betting big on AI being the future of how we use the internet.
Arc users already have access to Dia. If you're curious, you can join the waitlist on The Browser Companyās website.
Bottom line? Dia isnāt just a browser ā itās trying to be your smart, helpful sidekick online.
