Karnataka labour officials visit Infosys Bengaluru, Mysuru campuses amid layoffs; company emphasizes employee-friendly policies

Moneycontrol reported last week that Infosys was laying off over 300 trainees at its Mysuru campus after they failed evaluation tests in three consecutive attempts.

Karnataka’s Labour Department officials visited Infosys’ campuses in Bengaluru and Mysuru to assess the situation following reports of trainee layoffs. During the discussions, Infosys underscored its commitment to fair treatment and employee-friendly policies, according to people familiar with the matter.

While officials visited its Bengaluru campus on Monday, they met with officials at its Mysuru campus today (February 13th). The Labour Department has taken stock and will put together an assessment report with its findings in the next few days, a source said.

"We have collected all the necessary information and documents. We will submit the report to the government within a day or two. 348 trainees were affected," a govt official said.

In its interactions with the Labour Department, Infosys is learnt to have said that it remains a net hirer and emphasised the scale of its operations.
