Reddit faced another wave of trouble on Monday when hundreds of users around the world reported that the platform was not working properly. According to outage tracker Downdetector, complaints began rising in the afternoon, with more than 250 users saying they could not access Reddit.
Many people said the website would not load for them, while others reported that the app was freezing or failing to open pages. Around 48 percent of the complaints were from users who could not access the Reddit website. Another 42 percent reported problems with the app and about 10 percent said they could not connect to Reddit’s servers. These numbers suggest that the issue affected people across devices rather than one specific platform.
Interestingly, Reddit’s official status page showed no ongoing outage at the time. This confused users because some people were able to browse normally while others could not. Such situations usually happen when only certain regions or specific servers are affected. For users, this often feels like a personal outage even when the entire platform is not officially down.
This is not the first time Reddit has faced disruption in recent months. In November, the platform suffered a much larger outage that affected thousands of users across the United States and India. In comparison, the latest incident was smaller, but still large enough to create concern among regular users who rely on Reddit for news updates, community discussions and entertainment.
During the outage, people took to other social media platforms to check if they were alone in facing the issue. As usual, screenshots, jokes and questions began circulating as users tried to understand what was happening. For many, Reddit is a daily habit, so even a short disruption feels noticeable.
Although the issue appeared to settle down within a short time, the brief problem once again highlighted how dependent people have become on a few major platforms. When a site like Reddit goes down, even partially, it affects conversations, communities and the flow of information.
Reddit has not shared any official explanation for the glitch yet. For now, the platform seems to be working normally again, but outages like this often serve as a reminder that even the biggest websites can run into sudden technical problems.
