Want a great camera phone but the Vivos,OPPOs and Samsungs are not your thing? You should wait for the iPhone 17 series. As per noted tipsters, the iPhone 17 Pro models will receive huge upgrades in terms of camera. The tipster, Digital Chat Station, states that the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature tetra prism camera, which means they will be the first phones to feature a camera module consisting of 48-megapixel camera lenses.
iPhone 17 Pro models: Expected camera details
Tipster Digital Chat Station posted on Weibo, the Chinese alternative of Twitter that the iPhone 17 Pro models will include a 48MP main Fusion lens, a 48MP Ultra Wide lens, and a new 48MP Tetraprism telephoto lens. If the rumours are true, it will replace the 12MP telephoto lens on the iPhone 16 Pro. Both the main and telephoto cameras will use hybrid glass-plastic lenses for better performance.
For the selfie camera, the Pro models will likely upgrade to a 24MP front camera from the 12MP cameras on the iPhone 16 lineup.
Now, Chat Station isn't the only tipster talking about these upcoming iPhone 17 cameras. Previously, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned way back in June that iPhone 17 Pro Max would feature an advanced 48MP Tetra Prism lens for better photo quality and improved zoom. Kuo also suggested that this lens might be exclusive to the Pro Max, but the new leak says that not only Pro Max, the Pro will also get the tetra prism lens.
