  • Expected specs include Tensor G4 chip, 8GB RAM, Android 16
  • Launch may happen mid-February, starting at Rs 49,999 in India

Google’s next mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 10a, may be arriving sooner than expected. Ahead of its official launch, fresh leaks have revealed almost everything about the phone, giving buyers a clear idea of what to expect. While the upcoming model appears to bring a few meaningful upgrades, it also seems to play safe by keeping much of the hardware similar to last year’s version.

According to reports, the Pixel 10a will feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The design is expected to look familiar, with only minor changes in dimensions. The phone is tipped to be slightly thicker but a little lighter than the Pixel 9a. One notable improvement could be the use of Gorilla Glass 7i protection, replacing the older Gorilla Glass 3, which should add better durability. Colour options expected at launch include Obsidian, Fog, Lavender, and Berry.

Under the hood, the Pixel 10a is said to run on Google’s Tensor G4 chip, along with the Titan M2 security chip. Since this is the same processor used in the previous model, users may not see a major jump in raw performance. However, Google is likely to focus on software optimisation and AI features to improve the overall experience. The phone is expected to come with 8GB RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB.

On the software side, the Pixel 10a is tipped to ship with Android 16 out of the box. Google is also expected to continue its strong update policy by offering up to seven years of operating system and security updates, which remains one of the biggest selling points of Pixel phones.
