Within a few days of Joe Biden’s departure from the presidency, Google appears to have removed Biden from its search results for United States presidents. Several users have reported the absence of Biden’s name from the search results. In response to this issue, a Google spokesperson acknowledged the error, stating that a brief data error in their knowledge graph had been identified and resolved promptly.
In a statement given to CNBC, a Google spokesperson acknowledged the error. “There was a brief data error in our knowledge graph. We identified the root cause and resolved it quickly,” said the company spokesperson.
The glitch, which occurred on Thursday morning, resulted in search results listing President Donald Trump as having served consecutive terms, with no mention of Biden's presidency.
The issue was first noticed by users on social media platforms like BlueSky and X, who were quick to share screenshots and express their outrage. Some users speculated that the glitch was a deliberate act, while others questioned whether it was an honest mistake on Google’s part.
Earlier, millions of Meta users reported that their accounts were forced to follow President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, with no option to unfollow.
