Stepwell brings India’s heritage into the battleground
The highlight of BGMI 4.0 is Stepwell, a new Point of Interest (POI) in Erangel. Designed in India, it’s the first-ever in-game location created locally for Indian gamers. The Stepwell blends cultural inspiration with gameplay strategy, featuring layered vertical combat, ambush zones, and sniper-friendly vantage points. Players will experience tight squad coordination and tactical gameplay like never before.

Diwali in-game celebration with fireworks
Adding a festive touch, Stepwell will host player-triggered Diwali fireworks from October 18 to 24. Squads can light up the sky mid-match while contesting control of this strategic zone. This cultural integration makes Stepwell not just a combat hotspot but also a celebration hub within BGMI.

Ghost gameplay adds supernatural twists
BGMI 4.0 introduces Ghost Gameplay, where eliminated teammates return as spectral companions. These ghost forms carry active and passive skills, including healing, scanning, and defensive abilities. With Spectral Revival, fallen players can still support their squads, making elimination less final and gameplay more dynamic.

Unfail 4v1 mode redefines survival combat
The new asymmetrical survival format called Unfail pits one stealth-powered hunter against four survivors. The survivors must escape while evading the chaser, introducing tension-filled encounters and new strategies. It’s a fresh addition to BGMI’s tactical variety and survival challenges.

Seasonal features and spooky surprises
The update expands with Spooky Soiree events and new mechanics. Players can explore the Wraithmoor Mansion, encounter interactive ghosts, or even ride a summonable Magic Broom that comes with dash and sweeping attack abilities. The update also brings the Diwali Exchange Center (October 3–23), Weekend GRIND rewards, and new weapons like the Mortar, ensuring players have multiple seasonal engagements.
