Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has released iOS 15 and iPadOS 16 updates for older iPhone and iPad models that cannot upgrade to more recent builds of Apple's iPhone and iPad mobile operating systems. These updates address the Coruna vulnerability disclosed last week by Google and iVerify, which has chained multiple vulnerabilities to target iPhones running older iOS versions and dupe these Apple users with financial fraud.

A few days ago, Google and iVerify published details on Coruna, an exploit that chained multiple vulnerabilities to target iPhones and iPads running older system versions. This particular exploit reportedly leverages five full iOS exploit chains and 23 vulnerabilities to older Apple models, and to break into your device using one of its tools from the exploit kit.

Moreover, the Coruna exploit can also scan the photos in a device by using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to understand the text inside the images, allowing the hackers to even procure bank passwords or pins. The exploit could also enter your online banking account from another device and can download a specific module from the web that is customised to hack that app.
