Amazon has launched the third-generation Echo Show 5 in India, with notable improvements in design, audio, and smart features. Priced at a discounted Rs 10,999, the new Echo Show 5 is available in Charcoal and Cloud Blue via Amazon.in, Flipkart, and select Reliance Digital and Croma stores.
This latest Echo Show sports a compact 5.5-inch smart display, now with sleeker rounded edges and an infinity cover glass. Designed to be your bedside or living room companion, it lets users check the weather, view calendars, control smart devices, and stream security camera feeds—all hands-free with Alexa.
Amazon has doubled down on audio quality, literally. The 3rd-gen Echo Show 5 promises twice the bass and clearer vocals than before, thanks to a 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker. It’s tailored for playing music, podcasts, or audiobooks via Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and more. You can even sync it with other Echo devices for multi-room music.
There’s also a built-in camera that enables video calls and remote home monitoring through the Drop In feature. If you have compatible smart security gear like cameras or video doorbells, you can view live feeds right on the screen. Within the home, Echo Show doubles as an intercom system for quick announcements.
The device runs on Amazon’s faster AZ2 Neural Edge processor and has an improved mic array. Voice commands let users control lights, fans, ACs, and other connected appliances. Alexa can also manage reminders, to-do lists, or timers on command.
As always, Amazon is emphasising privacy. The Echo Show 5 includes a physical camera shutter, mic mute button, and settings to view or delete voice recordings.
