Adobe is going all in on creative AI. At its MAX 2025 event in Los Angeles, the company introduced sweeping updates to Adobe Firefly, positioning it as the ultimate studio for creators working across video, audio, design and imaging. The newest suite includes Generate Soundtrack, Generate Speech, and a timeline-based AI video editor, turning Firefly into a true end-to-end creative environment.
The new Generate Soundtrack tool creates fully licensed, studio-quality instrumentals powered by Adobe’s Firefly Audio Model, while Generate Speech lets users craft realistic multilingual voiceovers using lifelike tones and emotional control. The AI video editor allows frame-precise editing, adding titles, transitions and effects directly on a timeline, blending captured and generated content seamlessly.
At the heart of these upgrades is Firefly Image Model 5, Adobe’s most advanced model yet, capable of generating 4MP native-resolution images with striking realism, improved lighting, and accurate anatomy. It also powers Prompt to Edit, a conversational editing feature that lets users describe changes in plain language — for example, “make the sky moodier” or “add soft morning light.”
Adobe also previewed Project Moonlight, an agentic AI assistant that can brainstorm ideas, draw insights from social channels, and help creators turn concepts into content within minutes. Firefly Boards, Adobe’s AI-powered ideation workspace, now supports 3D object rotation, PDF exports and bulk downloads for smoother collaboration.
Expanding its open ecosystem, Adobe added new partner models from Google, OpenAI, Runway, ElevenLabs, Topaz Labs and others, giving creators access to the industry’s best AI models in one place.
Finally, Firefly Custom Models, now in private beta, let creators train their own AI in their unique visual style by uploading sample images. These personalised models remain private and are accessible only with the creator’s permission.
