Use the ‘Find Friends’ section
Open Snapchat, tap the profile icon and navigate to “Add Friends”. In the “Find Friends” list, you’ll see suggestions of people based on your contacts or mutual friends. While this does not reveal someone’s official Best Friends list, it can highlight users with whom they likely interact frequently. Scroll through the suggestions: repeated names might signal frequent snaps.
Monitor through Family Centre
Snapchat’s Family Centre lets parents or guardians monitor a minor’s account if added to the system. Within a child’s account (under 18), you can view their list of friends and most-interacted users. Go to Profile → Settings → Privacy Control → Family Centre → Send invite to the child’s account. Once accepted, you get access to their friend list and interaction patterns.
Look for ‘Mutual Friends’ tags
When you view someone’s profile or suggestions in Snapchat, you may see tags like “Mutual Friends”. This indicates that you and the other person share one or more common connections. It won’t tell you exactly who their top friends are, but seeing repeated mutual connections can hint at their close social circle. Use this as a clue alongside other ways.
Observe Snapchat friendship emojis
Snapchat uses emoji symbols to represent interaction levels: Baby (new friend), Smile (Best Friends), Yellow Heart (#1 Best Friend), Red Heart (Best Friends two weeks), Two Pink Hearts (Super Best Friends). If you have access to someone’s account with permission, watch which friend emojis appear beside their names in chat lists. Those emoji statuses can signal who they engage with frequently.
Simply ask them
Sometimes the most direct way is also the easiest. If you’re comfortable, ask the person who’s on their Best Friends list. Transparency often works better than guessing. While Snapchat hides this list for privacy, a conversation can clear questions and avoid misinterpretation. It’s a straightforward method to get clarity about their top Snapchat connections.
