In an extraordinary turn of events, WWE's biggest babyface John Cena turned into a heel at the end of Elimination Chamber 2025. The development occurred post Cena's victory in the men's Elimination Chamber match, which featured Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, Logan Paul, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre.
Rollins and McIntyre kicked off the action as other members kept joining as per their turns with Punk being the last. McIntyre was the first to be eliminated and was followed by Priest. Then Logan Paul made the exit after taking a GTS (Go-To-Sleep) by Punk. Rollins was then taken out with Punk and Cena combining and hitting the former with a GTS and AA (Attitude Adjustment).
Punk and Cena then engaged in a momentary battle but a stomp by Rollins on Punk post his elimination helped Cena with the win. This was Cena's fourth Elimination Chamber win, which now puts him on level terms with Triple H for the most Elimination Chamber wins among WWE superstars.
However, the drama unfolded soon after Cena set a date with WWE champion Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. Rhodes made his way to the ring and was followed by "The Final Boss" Rock, who was accompanied by Travis Scott.
Rock in the lead up to the Chamber had asked Rhodes if he could "give his soul" to him and came out seeking answers but was met with a rejection. The decision by the WWE champion was met with loud cheers.
Rock didn't react much as Cena, who seemed to appreciate Rhodes' decision, walked up to him and shared a hug before leaving everyone stunned. The WWE legend, who will be retiring this year, took Rhodes down with a low blow. This led to further attacks on Rhodes from Cena while Rock, who earlier had vowed to end Rhodes' "American dream", enjoyed the show.

This has now added a whole new flavor to WWE's annual party, WrestleMania 41, which will take place next month. Cena, who is chasing his 17th world championship title, will now have the upper hand, given that Rock is already on his side.
Incidentally, Rock had played a key role in the previous year's WrestleMania, which saw Rhodes beat Roman Reigns to become the WWE champion. Then Cena had actually come to help Rhodes when chaos broke out in the ring, leading to one superstar after another trying to get involved in the match. However, the story will be different this time, adding an extra layer of excitement to this year's WrestleMania.
