Indian Olympic Committee (IOC) member and Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani has hailed as historic Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh’s wining the country’s first ever shooting medal in a mixed-team event at the Paris Olympics.
Singh and Bhaker clinched the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event by beating South Korea on Day 4 of the games. The win also made Bhaker the first Indian to bag two medals in a single Olympic Games.
“Our athletes create history again with India’s first-ever medal in a mixed-team event at the Olympics! Congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning Bronze in the mixed 10m air pistol.
"A special call out to Manu for becoming the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic edition. The entire nation is keeping its fingers crossed for her hat-trick now! Here’s wishing all our athletes the very best for the Games ahead. Go, India, go!” said Ambani.
Manu is also competing in the 25m pistol individual.
In the qualification round, Bhaker and Singh accumulated 580-20x points, securing their place in the medal match.
