Mike Tyson, Jake Paul total net worth and how much money boxers made from controversial bout

Jake Paul on expected lines humbled 58-year-old Mike Tyson in his boxing return at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Paul, who is a Youtuber-turned-boxer, secured an unanimous decision victory over the former heavyweight champion in a fight, which was mostly lopsided. The 27-year-old dictated the show from the word go apart from the rare jabs connected by Tyson and by the end of second round it became pretty evident where the fight was headed to. It didn't take long for the 58-year-old Tyson to run out of gas and at one stage it felt like a solid punch could end the show even before reaching to the eighth and final round.

However, Tyson managed to escape the humiliation by withstanding the series of combinations by Paul for eight two-minute rounds. Paul went to secure the bout 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73. The outcome saw Tyson's stats get reduced to 50-7 as this was a sanctioned fight.

The event was anticipated to be a sporting spectacle but even if it was, it was a sad one. A legendary fighter, who had already retired in 2005 fought against an opponent 31 years younger to him, appeared feeble and the matchup did nothing to disprove the notion that boxing is a younger person’s sport. But if we talk about individual gains, particularly in terms of revenue, then both boxers drew hefty payouts from the controversial bout in Texas.
