Senior players, like Mohammad Nabi, shared their indignation on social media, and Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan called the strike "immoral and barbaric".

Yuvraj Singh led prayers following the death of three Afghan cricketers in the Paktika province of Afghanistan on Friday after an unwarranted airstrike by Pakistan. Kabeer Agha, Sibghatullah Zirok, and Harron had returned to Urgun following a friendly game in Sharana when the strike occurred. The strike was part of a barrage that claimed the lives of at least ten people.

Yuvraj Singh posted his statement on X on Saturday, and Indian and Afghan fans swiftly shared it. “Heartfelt condolences to the families of the young #Afghanistan cricketers who lost their lives in the recent attack. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time. May their memories inspire peace & unity,” Yuvraj posted on X.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan also posted on X: “My prayers are with the innocent ppl of Afghanistan. Stay safe.”

In the wake of recent tension and the heinous strike, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) pulled out from the T20 tri-series in Pakistan, which was scheduled for November 17–29 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The cricket board branded the attack a cowardly act. The loss of young, talented cricketers was lamented by the ICC. Meanwhile, Afghanistan have been replaced by Zimbabwe in the tri-series.
